Making LED interior lighting

Now, let's talk about what we need to create the backlight in the car: LED strip (rated for 12V), controller, connecting wires, soldering iron, unnecessary cigarette lighter socket.

RGB tape has four outputs. Three of them indicate colors and one common. To light one row of LEDs of a certain color, you just need to solder the connecting wire to it and to the common output, connect them to the power source (the common wire must be connected to "+") and there will be light! I think the principle of operation is clear.

In the same way, you need to connect the wires to the controller (carry out the connection according to the circuit diagram). Only connect the power source to the old cigarette lighter. You can do without this by connecting the power to the controller from standard lighting, which will be much more convenient.

After mounting the circuit, insulation of the open parts of the connecting wires, you can go to the intricacies of the process of installing lighting in a car.

As a rule, a better glow effect is achieved when the glow does not irritate a person’s eyes, which in close conditions of a car can only mean that the LEDs are hidden from attention, directed away from sight.

The ideal place is the area under the seats, it is necessary to place the tape there so that when the chair moves, the wire does not create tension, in order to avoid breaking it.

If there is a need to illuminate the glove compartment area, fasten the tape to its upper part so that bright light does not blind your eyes.

Mounting the tape to the ceiling, as many believe, is unjustified, since the lighting is superficial, and bright light is harmful to vision.

Remember that everything is good in moderation, you do not need to paste over the entire space of the car with LEDs, otherwise the backlight will turn into an object of irritation for passengers, and will not lead to their delight and admiration.
