Why buy an inverter generator when conventional generators are cheaper? The answer is quite simple.

Noise

The main advantage of inverter generators is that they work much quieter compared to conventional generators. Sound or noise produced by a generator is measured in decibels. Some of the quietest models of inverter generators "issue" about 50-55 decibels. Conventional generators of similar power will produce 65-70 dB.

A 10 dB increase in noise is perceived by us as a 5-7-fold increase in sound. Therefore, the generator "issuing" 70 decibels will be 10 times louder compared to another generator "performance" 60 decibels.

Modern inverter generators of the latest generation are barely audible from a distance of 6-7 meters. This is a real benefit for those who live in areas where noise is a problem or when traveling in nature, to a park where the noise level should be within 40-50 dB, 3-5 meters from the noise source.

But the benefits do not end there ...

Quality voltage

Modern inverter generators produce alternating current with a pure sine wave very similar to the sine wave in our mains. This may not seem very important, but for the normal, correct operation of many modern devices, in addition to stable voltage, a pure sine wave is required. Conventional generators are not recommended for powering sensitive electronics. Office equipment, heating boilers are especially sensitive to the quality of electricity.

Economy mode

Another advantage of the inverter generator is the adjustable engine speed. What does this mean in practice? The generator engine runs at the speed necessary to generate a certain amount of energy, then converted by the generator into electricity.

This is a huge plus, especially if you need a small amount of electricity. That is, for example, you have an inverter generator with a capacity of 2 kW but at the moment you need only 300-400 watts. In this case, the generator will operate at low speeds.

Conventional generators operate at a stable high 3000 rpm, regardless of load. What does this mean and what does it affect? This means more noise, increased fuel consumption, more gas pollution.

Another important advantage of inverter generators is their compactness and weight. Inverter generators are much lighter than conventional generators.

An inverter generator with a capacity of 2 kW will weigh about 15-20 kg and quite compact dimensions. A similar conventional generator will weigh approximately 35-40 kg and is twice as large in size.
