Solar chargers

Solar chargersA traveler, a fisherman, a hunter, or just a person who loves to relax in nature, can never be sure until the end that he will not suddenly find himself in a situation where an important electronic device for him, be it a cell phone, GPS-navigator, echo sounder, or laptop will not be discharged at the most inopportune moment.

If this happens, then you can remain without communication, the idyll of the whole event will be violated, and anything can be threatened, up to human health. So, however, it was before portable chargers for mobile technology. Here are car-lighter chargers, portable finger-type chargers, and even hand-held generators and small solar panels.

Solar chargers, as an alternative to an environmentally friendly source of electrical energy, have gained particular popularity in recent years among consumers. Let's look at what solar chargers are.

In general, there are only two types of chargers. The first is a foldable solar panel for charging mobile devices directly in the presence of sunlight. The second type is a charger based on a built-in high-capacity lithium battery, also equipped with a solar panel.

TOPRAY Solar TPS-956N-10

The first of the simplest solutions is a solar charger made in the form of several small solar panels placed in a water-repellent case. An example is the model TOPRAY Solar TPS-956N-10.

When deployed, this device has dimensions of 480 mm by 280 mm, and It can give power to a load of up to 10 W at a voltage of 5.5 V, and with a current of up to 1.8 A. This, given as an example, model is equipped with two solar panels, but in general in chargers of this type there may be more.

This device is equipped with two USB outputs, which allows you to charge any mobile device, and even if the device you are charging does not have a USB connector, charging can be done through the adapter.

Foldable Phone Charger

This type of solar charger fits easily into a backpack and can serve as a reliable hiking solution. Its advantages: it is easy to carry, does not take up much space, and if there is sunlight, electrical energy will be easily available. The disadvantage is the lack of a built-in battery for storing and storing energy, and the phone can no longer be recharged in the dark.

Solar Charger 11200

The second of two main types, a very convenient option for a portable charger, are chargers with a built-in lithium battery and a solar panel. An example of such a device is Solar Charger 11200.

This universal charger has a built-in lithium battery capacity of 11,200 mA / h, and can charge laptops and any other mobile devices. The built-in battery can be recharged both from a 2 W solar panel located on the front side of the device, and from a 220 volt household outlet.

Conveniently, the built-in battery has significant capacity, and direct solar energy may be required only at critical moments. In addition, this charger can work at any time of the day, and can give power to the load, significantly exceeding the capabilities of the built-in solar panel, you can even power up a laptop from such a charger.

The advantage of devices with a built-in battery is the ability to accumulate energy in the built-in battery at any daylight time, and spend it when necessary, even at night. The only relative drawback of this type of device is its significant weight.

On the feasibility of acquiring a particular type of solar charger, each person can judge for themselves, according to their needs, preferences and capabilities.

Solar phone chargers sold under the Powerbank brand with a 5600 mAh lithium battery are also very popular.

For greater reliability and personal safety, it is desirable to have both types of chargers with you: a folding solar panel and a device with a built-in battery.

I don’t know how anyone, but an avid fisherman can’t do without such a device. I bought a solar-powered charger for safety for fishing trips. Most often, I go for a week, there are no residential buildings nearby and even charging a phone is a big problem. But now I and my family are calm.
