Hitachi gets electricity from the air

Hitachi gets electricity from the airHitachi has developed a new technology for generating electricity, using naturally occurring vibrations in the air with an amplitude of several micrometers.

HITACHI has developed a new technology for producing electric current through the use of natural processes of vibrations that occur in the air, which pass with an amplitude of a couple of micrometers. Despite the fact that this technology provides a very low voltage, interest in it is very high due to the fact that such generators can work in any weather and natural conditions, which they cannot boast of, for example solar panels.

The theory of heuristic technology is that electricity is generated by changing vibrations between the electrodes, which are fixed on a flat spring, which, in turn, are fixed to a fixed electrode.

To confirm their breakthrough technology, the HITACHI developers made a device measuring 2.5x7 cm, which generates electricity with a capacity of 0.12 microwatts. It begins to generate current when oscillations of several micrometers occur, which may well be created even in the almost motionless airspace of the building. This power is enough to once a hour triggered a light or temperature sensor, or can send data that they measured.

At the moment, according to the developers, this technology can be applied to sensors that measure the wear resistance and wear of building materials.

Hitachi has taken a new step in generating electricity, and this is only the beginning of the development of such revolutionary technologies. Engineers of the company naturally will not stop there and a new development has already been planned, or rather, in the near future it is planned to reduce the dimensions of the device to 1x1 cm, and most importantly, a gradual increase in the generated current. Not far off is the time when these technologies will help to generate such electricity that will be enough to provide electricity to the house.

Your "new technology" is 80 years late and is called a microphone.

Similar devices were developed in the distant 20s of the twentieth century.
