Why is my phone not charging?

Why is my phone not charging? You have connected your mobile phone to the charger and, inserting it into a power outlet, found that the battery was not charging. There may be many reasons, but most often it is:

1. BAD CONTACT between the plug and the connector - the socket may be loose (due to the “careful” handling of the phone) or its contacts are dirty (see Fig. 1).

This is a very common reason! It is enough to wipe the contacts of the charging connector with a piece of bandage soaked in PURE ALCOHOL (you can buy at the pharmacy) when the battery is pulled out of the phone, DO NOT under any circumstances use solvents, etc. active substances.

2. The cable is damaged due to constant bending and twisting. You can check the charger on another device, but for those who have multimeter it is advisable to measure the voltage on them.

3. If the device gives out voltage, look for the reason in the phone - pay attention to the contacts of its battery and those to which it is connected (Fig. 2). Wipe them gently.

4. Battery malfunction - perhaps it has already exhausted its resource and will not be able to gain the required capacity. Each battery has a certain number of charge-discharge cycles - the energy that it accumulates becomes less and less with time.

If, after installing a new battery, the phone does not charge further, most likely the controller responsible for this process is faulty. For repairs, you will have to disassemble the device and replace it. Those who do not know how to do this and are not familiar with digital electronics should contact a service center, otherwise the cost of repairs can increase significantly.

There was a similar problem with charging the Sony Ericsson Z710i phone, when connected to a charge, the device issued the following message: "error while charging. Stop charging." At first, there were suspicions of a battery (age 5 years) and a connector, but were not confirmed. The problem was in the charger - the electrolytic capacitor at the output of the charger turned out to be faulty. I replaced it with a similar one with a small margin of voltage (it stood at 10 or 16V, I don’t remember exactly, I set it to 25V, the capacity is the same). After this repair, the charging problem was fixed. I advise you to disassemble the memory and check the capacitor. Good luck

In fact, the device may not charge due to corny oxidized contacts, you can read about repair a lot and professionals do not sit everywhere. Inexpensive repair of samsung galaxy s3 in relation to the price of a new device, because not everyone can buy a phone after a small breakdown.

There was a problem with the charging for the phone itself, the fact is that I twisted it all the time, worried, so it broke. Having bought a new one, I used it a little more than a month and again does not work. Well, how can this be, one charge broke only after 3 years, and another month.

Yanathen you should not twist the charging wire - the wire will break in each newly purchased charge. The first charge could last longer, as the original (which came with the phone). Usually it is better than chargers, which are sold separately.

By the way, if the matter is in the cord, then charging can be easily repaired by simply replacing the cord and, if necessary, a plug. In this case, you can choose an elastic wire that will not break under frequent bends (when the charging wire is twisted).

I have a question on the topic, but I’ll talk about the DVR: the usual battery from a hundred, Nokia BL-4C, does not charge, although when installed in a hundred, it fully charges after a couple of hours. There is voltage at the output terminals of the recorder, when a charged battery is installed, it turns on, it works, i.e. There is contact, but after a day it completely discharges, although when traveling, the indicator on the display and the LED show charging. Replacing the battery did not work. It turns out, a malfunction in the controller? And one more thing: what is the purpose of the middle contact in the BL-4C? Thanks.

I put it on charging, charging is in progress, but interest does not rise, I bought a new battery and a new charge, anyway, tell me what is the problem?

Camilla, if replacing the battery and charger did not solve the problem, it means there is definitely a problem in the phone itself, it may be that it interacts incorrectly with the battery controller.
Vladimir, if I’m not mistaken, the middle contact of the battery serves to interact with the phone controller battery. Perhaps the voltage, charge current, when the battery is in the recorder, is higher than the permissible values and the controller blocks charging.
