And there can be only one piece of advice - the main thing is security. And then everything else. Sad and inexorable statistics show that the main reason for the fires of New Year trees is garlands. Rather, not the garlands themselves, but their improper choice and exploitation.

First of all, it is necessary to clarify one important fact - there are New Year's garlands for home use, and there are street garlands. Street garlands can be safely turned on indoors, but New Year garlands intended solely for indoor use cannot be used outdoors. Their weaker moisture protection and thin wires are not able to withstand the vagaries of the weather, which will inevitably lead to a short circuit, and there not far from the fire.

You should also completely get rid of homemade Christmas garlands. Believe me, such a “saving” will sooner or later turn into a disaster. The fact is that homemade garlands are usually made of incandescent lamps, which means that they should not be allowed to directly contact New Year's toys made of paper, plastic and other combustible materials.

If you want to really save, then it's better to buy LED Christmas lights. They are not only completely fireproof, as they do not contain heating elements, but also significantly save energy, compared to conventional lamp garlands.

New Year's garlands need not only to be selected correctly, but also to be correctly installed. When dressing up a Christmas tree, try not to lower the garlands close to the floor - they can be caught by children or pets. Even if no one is shocked, there is a risk of the tree falling over with all the toys and decorations.

New Year's street garlands should be fastened as responsibly as possible. If this is not done, then sharp gusts of wind will surely throw the garland down, where small children can also find them, not suspecting that the garland is still energized.

And last, before buying New Year's garlands, ask the seller if they have a safety certificate, including fire safety. If this is not available, then it is better to look for garlands in another place. Moreover, New Year's garlands are not a disposable product, you will use them for many years.
