Recently, very popular plastic electrotechnical skirting boards with cable channel, in which you can lay a telephone or network cable, with the possibility of replacing it without dismantling the baseboard itself. All fasteners (screws or nails) are inside it.

Cable channel it is closed with a decorative panel that masks the channel itself, together with fasteners, in addition, the panel serves to join two skirting boards in a straight section. In addition, the plastic baseboard is equipped with sealing rubber bands (top and bottom), which after installation hide possible irregularities in the wall or floor.

Installation of such skirting boards is not very difficult. For work, you will need a tape measure, a small grinder (or a hacksaw for metal), a percussion drill or hammer drill, a screwdriver, an awl and a pencil.

Before starting work, it is necessary to make the necessary measurements of the room, determine the total running footage, calculate the number of external and internal angles, as well as the places where the baseboard breaks (doors, niches for heating radiators). For each inner and outer corner, the corresponding connecting element is taken into account, for each niche - a pair of plugs, right and left.

In order not to miss the clogged dowel, marking is first made: the baseboard is applied in its place and pierced at the points of the intended fastening with an ordinary awl. At the same time, a mark remains on the wall - a place for drilling and installing a plastic dowel.

Skirting boards are best cut with a small grinder with a thin circle. On long sections of the skirting wall and the cable channel panel are placed "apart", while the panels connect the ends of the skirting boards.

The “inner corner” element is attached directly to the baseboard. The “outer corner” element consists of two parts: the first, mounting, is attached to the corner of the wall independently, after which the ends of the skirting boards are launched into it from both sides. The second - decorative - is worn at the end from above, in a special groove.

In the end, you only need to remove excess trimmings, wipe the skirting boards and the floor from dust and enjoy the results of your work!
