For centuries, people have felt the truth of these expressions on their own skin, regardless of what they were doing - they ate a mammoth in a cave or chopped cabbage at a flea market, planted rye in the steppes of Ukraine or gathered votes in elections ...

In addition to applying these proverbs to certain events, the meaning implied in them can be transferred to entire periods in a person’s life.

He postponed his studies, "put" to work - and the years go by, and the person’s self-realization does not occur. As a result, negative consequences are not ruled out - “looked into the glass”, “stepped on a cork” or simply missed the time, which is not enough, how not to hope, then when the “cancer whistles” or “the cock bites”.

Remembering the words of Pavka Korchagin that “you need to live so that it is not excruciatingly painful for years spent aimlessly”, the question arises: “How to live them so as not to regret?”.

The hero of Ostrovsky did not have many options. But now, even when the "narrow gauge railway" has long been built, the person has more than enough opportunities to prove himself. One of them is yours.

This opportunity, in each, appears in different ways. I will give my example of that “sparkle” that arose in childhood.

He was friends with the boy - they were neighbors, they lived in the same house. Dad, with Andrei, worked in the radio engineering specialty and constantly brought in some spare parts, radio components - he developed his child's interest in radio engineering, and quite successfully. Andrew began to learn the basics of this science. What was happening nearby could not but interest me, although at that time I did not achieve much success in the knowledge of electrical engineering - there was no teacher.

I remember climbing up the rubbish heaps and collecting discarded radios, players, and everything that looked at shiny capacitors and color resistors. I learned something from Andrei, I knew how colorful things look and are called.

When a friend spoke with his father for reasons of malfunctions of the circuits he had assembled, I was at a loss as I could not understand what they were talking about and in what language. Interest was manifested with even greater force. But in view of the fact that I myself could not afford to study even a simple part of the science of electricity (I tried to read magazines and textbooks), I quit this lesson and, for a long time. Then there was a gap, which I now regretfully recall.

Time passed, the moment came to choose a future profession. Interest, as such, was useless. When considering options, the look "fell" on the electromechanical department of the school. But circumstances again intervened: thanks to my “quickness” the “recruitment” to the educational institution ended and I had to go to the factory as a student of an electric radio installation specialist until the next school year.

Working in a team, I realized that one can acquire knowledge of electrical engineering and electronics only when information is taken not only from a book, but from examples and arguments of people who know their job and have experience in these areas.

Especially well-mastered things that I saw in practical application, and then compared and compared with their descriptions in textbooks. So, in this way, gradually poured into the study process and, making progress, step by step, began to gain self-confidence, set immediate tasks for obtaining a result for the future?

So, if you take and select useful information from practice and relate it to theory, it will turn out just what was missing, when you get acquainted with science on rubbish heaps, as well as when trying to read obscure journals and textbooks.

But how to attract the attention of those who do not yet know that he was born with a "multimeter" in his hands or with Ohm's law in his head?

It is impossible to calmly watch young people loitering in the streets, missing their time and not yet knowing what lies ahead.
