DIY alarm system

DIY alarm systemToday in the market of security systems there is a wide variety of alarms that protect an apartment, private home or office. There are simply “chants” - systems that emit alarming sound signals, are based on GSM — send a message or ring the alarm to the owners. You can also see alarms with a built-in telephone line, a built-in telephone line and a GSM module at the same time.

According to the type of information transmission, signaling is divided into wired and wireless. Autonomous alarms work independently of other systems, console alarms are connected to the central console, which receives an alarm signal, as a result of which a response group can be sent to the object.

Depending on your wishes, you can choose the desired alarm, but which one can you set yourself? It already depends on the level of your technical knowledge. If you are going to hand over the alarm to the remote, then it is best to leave the matter of setup and installation to professionals, since everything should correspond to the guests. If you are satisfied autonomous security alarm, then if you wish, you can try to install a security system with your own hands.

If you decide to buy a gsm alarm system and install it yourself, be prepared to stretch the wires around the apartment or house, choose the places for installing sensors yourself, and configure the system. A wired alarm will definitely save you money, but not your time.

On the market there are simplified versions of wired alarms, where it is possible to install such an alarm yourself, you just have to program it and connect the sensors. Power, battery - already connected. Detailed instructions are also attached to such sets, and a person without an engineering education will be able to understand it.

If you do not have time to make wiring, you are not confident in your ability to install sensors, and you have made expensive repairs that you do not want to spoil, then wireless alarm system suits you. After you have hung sensors, it remains for you to configure the central. If you have a GSM alarm, then you just have to save the phone numbers and this is where the basic setup ends. As a rule, all components are already pre-configured.

It’s impossible to hide the central unit of the signaling system, but how to properly load the sensors? It is best to hang motion sensors, somewhere in the corner of the room, at a height of 2 - 2.2 meters. And not at right angles, but with a lens tilt of 10-20 degrees.

If you install wireless motion sensors, then such sensors should not be mounted in the following places:

- opposite objects with rapidly changing temperatures (electric and gas heaters, etc.);

- opposite to moving objects with a temperature close to the temperature of the human body (oscillating curtains above the radiator);

- in the zone of passage of domestic animals;

- opposite the windows;

- opposite reflective surfaces (mirrors);

- places with fast air circulation (fans, open windows or doors);

- for objects blocking the field of vision of sensors;

- near metal objects causing radio signal attenuation or shielding from it;

- outside the premises;

- in rooms with temperature and humidity beyond the permissible limits.

If you install a door / window opening sensor, try to install both parts of the sensor as accurately and as closely as possible (magnet and reed switch) - then 1 mm to 10 mm.If these parts are far from each other, or the object on which you installed, for example, a door, will oscillate, then in such cases the sensor may give false alarms.

If you use a wireless motion sensor, then try to attach a magnet to the moving part, and a reed switch with a transmitter to the frame. Otherwise, when the door / window is closed, the elements of the transmitter will succumb to vibration, which can damage it. And it should be noted that radio sensors should not be installed near metal objects that cause attenuation of the radio signal or shield from it.

Alarm systems use vibration sensors. As a rule, they are installed on glass or on the frame of windows, shop windows, sometimes doors. The range of various sensors is very large and for each alarm system it can be unique, because you yourself can adjust the number of detectors - it all depends on the object that needs to be protected.

    There is nothing much to say, as everything ingenious is simple and intelligible !!! Thanks.

    I myself made a simple alarm system. Used motion sensors. Everything was tied to an old computer with Windows3.1. Then he refused it. Now we need to try on the new element base. I want something else to be an SMS alert. It is necessary to link all this into the "smart home" system. Otherwise, it turns out only local automation, but you want something global. The alarm system should only be an element of a large automated system that manages all the engineering networks in the house.

    We installed an alarm system on our house and I know I want to say what was right and did what we decided to install it. Now we can even go to our parents in another city calmly. And calmly located and not worry that something might happen. We just control what happens there via the Internet.

    It’ll probably come out expensive, you need to pay 20 thousand somewhere, plus a monthly maintenance fee, you need to do it yourself, put your apartment on the alarm, because the attempts have already been hacked, and they won’t stop. (

    The monthly fee with us is almost 1300; it’s not so much in our time to pay for the safety of your apartment. And when we installed the equipment, it cost almost 13 thousand, but I don’t know how much now, it may have risen in price.

    What are you talking about? What is the monthly fee ?? regular GSM phone, only with security functions, motion sensors and a siren. on alarm sends SMS, or calls you.
